We have recently been informed by Beijing Juzhi Hezhong Technology Co., Ltd. that the company has scheduled the production of over 8,000 units of the order for 30,000 hubless hydrogen battery-powered two-wheeled vehicles for export to the United States.
The super motorcycle with a range of 300+ kilometers is experiencing high demand in overseas markets.
The cutting-edge design, which does not include wheels, features an intelligent display system on the front and handlebars, a bright orange body, and two oversized black hubless tires. This is the hubless hydrogen fuel cell motorcycle, brought to market by "Juzhi Hezhong," and its scientific name is the "Hubless Super hydrogen-powered motorcycle ."
Juzhi Hezhong was originally established in Los Angeles. In May 2017, the company received an angel round investment of RMB 15 million. Subsequently, the company relocated its headquarters to the Beijing Daxing International Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Zone. The company specialises in the development and production of super hydrogen-electric hybrid systems, encompassing the entire production, storage, transportation and utilisation process.
This motorcycle, with its distinctive geek-style design, is the flagship product of the company. The product has already secured a significant number of international orders, including 30,000 from the United States and 21 other countries. The order is for 10,000 units.
"We have already scheduled production of more than 8,000 units, and the remaining hydrogen-powered motorcycles for export to the United States are expected to be fully produced by the end of the year," stated Wang Zhixin, chief engineer of Juzhi Hezhong R&D.
It is understood that the retail price of this exported hubless hydrogen-powered motorcycle is up to $10,000 in the United States.
This is not simply a novelty item. Mr. Wang Zhixin stated that the hydrogen fuel cell capacity of this hydrogen-powered motorcycle is 200 grams and that it can last more than 300 kilometers when fully filled.
In terms of safety and transportation, Wang Zhixin explained that the hydrogen used in hydrogen-powered vehicles typically falls between 35 MPa and 70 MPa.
The motorcycles utilise low-voltage batteries, which are fully compliant with safety standards. "We provide hydrogen ----production equipment with the vehicle, which users can utilise to produce hydrogen and refuel at home free of charge."
The lack of unified standards in hydrogen motorcycles has prevented the large-scale promotion.
At present, the use of hydrogen-powered bicycles and motorcycles is not permitted on a large scale in China.
It is recognized that there is currently a lack of China national standards for hydrogen-powered motorcycles and bicycles, which presents a challenge for their legal operation on the road.
On 22 October 2023, Jiangsu Province launched China's first local standard for hydrogen-powered bicycles, the "General Technical Requirements for Hydrogen-Powered Bicycles".
The standard was developed through a collaborative process involving 11 hydrogen-related companies and institutions in China, paving the way for the pilot programme of hydrogen-powered bicycles in Jiangsu Province.
Mr. Wang Zhixin also informed the electric vehicle industry that BraveLabs Inc. has a presence in the hydrogen energy pilot in Nanjing, Jiangsu. Additionally, the hydrogen-powered motorcycle in Daxing District, Beijing is also in the process of being developed, with a potential trial run by the end of the year.
